  • Detailed exegesis of ten chapters in English
  • The setting of the Gospel of Luke in the context of early Christianity, second temple Judaism, and the Greco-Roman world
  • Historical, literary, and contemporary interpretive approaches to reading the Gospel of Luke
  • Critical evaluation of recent scholarship on Gospel of Luke
  • Key themes in the Gospel of Luke
  • The meaning and message of the Gospel of Luke for today

Study Expectations
In this unit, you can expect to be guided through a variety of weekly learning activities which are designed to develop your understanding of and skills in the themes and passages related to this unit. Students should allow 8-10 hours of study time per week for this advanced unit.
