Part-time or 25hrs/week (negotiable)
Are you looking for a new challenge? Have you been working as a volunteer in a Youth Group/Youth ministry and looking for a more permanent role in a church that aligns with your Christian ministry? This role could be for you!
We are looking for an experienced Youth Leader to join our team and build a vibrant community of committed high school-aged children who are the future of our own and the wider Christian community.
Our Youth program meets every week on a Friday night during the school term for dinner, fun, building friendships, and learning and asking deep questions about life and faith.
The successful applicant will be supported in the role by the Vicar as well as other staff members, Parish Council and volunteer leaders. This is a 25 hour per week position (open to negotiation) with remuneration commensurate with experience.
The church facilities will be available for use of the internet, photocopying and holding meetings. The successful applicant will have the use of a shared office space. There will be a three month probationary period with a review, and ongoing annual reviews. It is envisaged that the position will be for at least two years in the first instance.
St Mark’s Camberwell is an Anglican Church in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The church has a strong local identity with members from many surrounding suburbs. Life at St Mark’s is always busy as many ministries occur during the week as well as Sundays. Please visit www.stmarkscamberwell.org.au
There are three Sunday services; 9.00 am, 11:00 am, and 6.00 pm. Over 200 members worship at St Mark’s with an average Sunday attendance of around 140 in-person and online. People value the strong biblical preaching, contemporary and traditional style of music, ministries catering for children, youth and young adults and a generally friendly atmosphere.
The church has an evangelical heritage and has been influenced positively over the years by social justice Christianity. We are committed to seeing that the Bible is taught clearly; that we remain open to God’s Spirit individually and corporately; and that we express the love of God in concrete ways both in our local area and overseas.
