Course Description
The Undergraduate Certificate of Theology is a great introduction to the Bible and ministry.
Graduates will be equipped to serve in their churches and communities with a more informed approach to ministry and the Bible. If you are wanting to pursue full-time ministry, we encourage you to look into our Bachelor and Masters courses. *Eligibility criteria applies.
Please note that the Undergraduate Certificates are approved for delivery until 30/06/2025.

Requirements

- ATAR: Completion of Year 12 with an ATAR of 65 or above; OR
- Previous Qualifications: Successful completion of a qualification at AQF Level 5 or above; OR
- Demonstrate Academic Suitability for course: successful completion of the Ridley Bridging Program or Interview.
- Language Qualifications for NESB: IELTS 6.5 overall with minimum of 6.0 in each subtest OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work.

Course Structure
The Undergraduate Certificate of Theology requires completion of four subjects, each worth 12 credit points.
Core Subject (12 credit points)
Choose one of:
- OT001-512: Old Testament Foundations
- OT002-512: Old Testament Prophets and Writings
- NT001-512: Jesus and the Gospels [online]
- NT002-512: The Early New Testament Church [online]
- NT003-512: New Testament Overview [campus]
- BB002-512: Biblical Theology and Interpretation [campus]
- TH005-512: Foundational Christian Beliefs
Additional Requirements (24 credit points)
Choose one subject (12 credit points) from the Christian Thought and History department
Choose one subject (12 credit points) from the Biblical Studies and Languages or Christian Thought and History department.
Elective Study (12 credit points)
1 subject at level 5-7 from any unit field.
