For one in six couples conceiving a child is difficult, or even impossible. This raises all kinds of problems and all kinds of questions, especially for Christian couples. How do we reconcile our experience with the experience of infertile women of the Bible like Hannah? How do we fit into a church where ‘family’ seems to be more important than Jesus? What does it mean to be a man or a woman when you are infertile? How do I make ethical decisions about IVF? How can churches better care for infertile couples?
These are difficult questions to ask, and difficult questions to answer.
