Special Announcement

As a precious partner in the gospel, I want to share with you some important news for our community.

During the chapel service on 19 March 2024, Brian Rosner announced to students that he will be finishing up as principal of Ridley College at the end of this year. After this, Brian will spend 2025 on research leave and then return in 2026 as a lecturer at the college, focussed on teaching, speaking and writing.

Brian will be giving a concluding, not-to-be-missed public lecture as principal on the evening of Wednesday, 16 October 2024.

Brian has led Ridley since mid-2012. During that time we have all benefited greatly from his enthusiastic teaching and preaching, warm and collaborative style of leadership, world-leading biblical scholarship, and passion for promoting the gospel in our needy world.

There have been many positive developments at Ridley during Brian’s time. Ridley Online is bringing theological education to hundreds of men and women around the country, many of whom would not otherwise be able to study. Two significant building projects have made our Parkville campus a welcoming place to learn in community. The college is serving the global church with a formidable output of research and scholarship, at the same time as offering deep spiritual formation and practical training.

Those of us who have worked closely with Brian can also attest to his genuine humility and godly example, and his warm pastoral heart. One of his enduring legacies at Ridley will be his call for Christians not to let disputable matters get in the way of our unity.

The board of Ridley College is responsible for appointing our next principal, and the board has already met and have a plan for that process. For now, please join us in praying for three things:

1. Please pray for the college, that God would continue to provide for us and help us to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel.
2. Pray for Brian that he will finish well as principal and serve God fruitfully in the years to come.
3. Pray for the Ridley board as the search for Ridley’s tenth principal gets underway.
