The Charles Perry Collection was launched in July 2009 by Archbishop Philip Freier, Archbishop of Melbourne. The collection is named after Charles Perry, the first Bishop of Melbourne, and is being developed into a specialist research collection covering evangelicalism in all its aspects, including:
Initial and substantial funding for the Collection was provided by a generous donation from the Leon and Mildred Morris Foundation. The library welcomes gifts of money and suitable materials for the collection.
The Collection is inter-shelved with the library’s main theological collection, according to subject. Items that are part of the Collection have the collection code “Perry” which is indicated in the catalogue and on spine labels. Over time material that is already in the library that falls within the scope of the Perry Collection will be moved into the Collection.
The Leon Morris Archive is a display of the collected writings of Rev. Dr Leon Morris, Principal of Ridley College from 1964 to 1979. The collection contains about 140 volumes written, co-written, edited or contributed to by Dr. Morris. It is located in the cabinet near the catalogues. Items in this collection are not available for loan.
The Leon Morris Collection is comprised of books donated to the library from the library of the Rev. Dr Leon Morris. The books are intershelved in the Theological Collection.
