This year the Ridley Women’s Preaching Network turns 5! We are so thankful for the encouragement that WPN has been over these years. Our October event will celebrate this milestone, as well as commemorate our founder Anthea McCall with a special supper beginning at 7pm in the College Lounge.
We will be joined by Reverend Julie Blinco-Smith and Dan King who will deliver two insightful talks on preaching in Cross-Cultural contexts.
Julie Blinco-Smith lives and ministers in Northeast Melbourne, Australia, with her husband Andrew, two teenage children, a micro coffee plantation and a playful puppy.
She is the Senior Minister at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Greensborough. It is a community-engaged church built around the idea of equipping and releasing her people for the works Jesus has for them.
Prior to being called to full-time ministry, she worked in Foreign Aid and Development. She assumed she would be doing global missions work, so she trained and worked in cross-cultural ministry. It turns out God had other plans and that training went towards communicating the Good News of Jesus to many different sub-cultures within Australia.
Dan King is married to Helen and has three children: Nate (13), Micah (11), and Eva (7). He can vaguely remember the days when he had spare time and seems to recall that he likes books, movies, board games, and the great indoors. Since 2006 he’s been sharing the Gospel with international students at Monash University with the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES).
