Congratulations Revd Dr Lindsay Wilson on the conferral of your honorary doctorate
It is with delight that Ridley College celebrates the conferral of an honorary Doctor of Theology (honoris causa) upon Reverend Dr Lindsay Wilson by the Australian University of Theology. This award acknowledges and recognises Dr Wilson’s more than three decades of contributions to theological education and Old Testament scholarship. As Vice-Principal, Academic Dean, and faculty member at Ridley College, Dr Wilson has shaped generations of students through his masterful teaching of Wisdom Literature, Hebrew, and Prophetic texts, while leading numerous study tours across biblical lands.
His administrative excellence, marked by pastoral wisdom and organisational care has strengthened academic leadership at both Ridley and through his engaged membership on the AUT Academic Board. Internationally, he has delivered theological training in South and Southeast Asia through partnerships with institutions like SAIACS and MEGST, while his monographs on Job, Proverbs, and covenant wisdom established him as a global voice in biblical studies. This honour recognises not only his scholarly rigor but also his profound impact on so many where his mentorship, gentle humour, and compassion have been deeply valued – qualities celebrated in the 2022 Festschrift ‘Honoring the Wise’, where colleagues and students worldwide testified to his enduring impact on the lives of many.
