Congregational Field Education

Overview
This subject gives you the opportunity to spend a full year engaging with a chosen ministry at a deep level.

Much more than placement, field education aims to develop reflective learning, self-awareness and a critical approach to ministry. You not only learn from doing but learn how to be life-long learner.

After setting your own goals through conversation with trusted mentors, you will meet weekly with a supervisor and monthly with a field committee who are part of the ministry you are undertaking.

It provides a rich time of self-reflection as you gain confidence through practice, learn how different ministries operate, take lessons from experienced practitioners, and discover what it’s like being in a public position of responsibility.
