This talk is from Day 2, Keynote 3 of the Same-Sex Attraction: A Pastoral Response ConferenceRidley College hosted Dr. Wesley Hill for two weeks in Melbourne. In order to address Same-Sex attraction theologically and pastorally acknowledging it is complex and requires sensitivity.  Ridley College values Wesley’s theological position, credibility and personal integrity on the issue.Dr. Wesley Hill Wesley Hill is Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity School for Ministry (Pittsburgh).

He offers a biblical and orthodox position on the issue with credibility and personal integrity (Wesley is exclusively same-sex attracted and celibate). His undergraduate studies were at Wheaton and his Ph.D. is from Durham University.

Wesley’s speaking topics and research interests are Pauline theology, Trinitarian theology, and Christian sexual ethics.

I discovered a love for Scripture and theology while an undergraduate at Wheaton College where I majored in ancient languages. From there, I began a long and winding journey into the Anglican fold and was confirmed in the Church of England while in graduate school at Durham University. My teaching and research interests are shaped by the conviction that the study of Scripture and attention to the church’s creedal and doctrinal traditions belong together in the theological task. I try to help my students understand how attention to Scripture formed the church’s creedal heritage and, likewise, how that heritage can now help us to read Scripture afresh as the Word of the Triune God for us today.’
