Senior Pastor – Kew Baptist Church
Posted: 02/06/22
Kew Baptist Church is seeking an energetic and evangelical Senior Pastor who is called to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership for the church community and lead and manage our ministry team. The team consists of a Worship and Integrations Pastor, Administrator & Pastoral Care Co-ordinator, and Administrative Assistant. You will also provide pastoral oversight and support to the Kew Student Residence Managers.
KBC is seeking a strategic leader to shepherd, encourage and equip the church and its members in pursuing our vision for ministry and our future ministry priorities. Employment is offered full-time (5 days/week) with flexible hours across the week, negotiated with other Pastors and agreed upon by the Leadership Team. The remuneration package is based on the BUV recommended stipend for 2021/22.
KBC is missionally focused, supporting missions locally and globally and we are looking for a Senior Pastor who can nurture the church’s spiritual growth and continue to lead the church in missional engagement.
KBC is about to undertake a significant building project. In consultation with the Leadership Team, you will support and advocate the building project within our church and the local community. Experience in a similar context would be beneficial but not essential.
About Kew Baptist Church
Kew Baptist (KBC) is situated on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung peoples’ land in the inner eastern suburb of Melbourne. Founded in 1856, it has a rich heritage and history of faith and service within the community of Kew and beyond.
We are a welcoming community of people that share a faith in Christ but are diverse in background. The church has 250-300 people across two congregations, with small groups a central element of church life and discipleship. Both faithful congregations have experienced growth and change over the last few years. The Morning Church congregation has seen an increased number of families and young couples attending, together with the established senior attendees. NightChurch has also continued to grow with current and former residents of the Kew Student Residence (a ministry of KBC since 1962) continuing to attend together with an increasing number of young people connecting in, both singles and couples.
