Missional Discipleship Lead – City Bible Forum

Posted: 10/04/21

City Bible Forum supports Christians in their relationships at work where they often spend 40+ hours a week interacting with outsiders and have opportunities to live distinctive lives in pressured and largely secular environments. A key part of the ministry is to gather Christians in small groups to pray and to encourage them to build relationships with co-workers, inviting them to read the Bible for themselves.

2020 has changed the landscape for these small groups. New hybrid models are emerging. The “new normal” presents new opportunities for Christian workers to share their faith—into both local neighbourhoods and global virtual workplaces; both small group gatherings and national industry groups.

The role of Missional Discipleship Lead is to grow the community of Christian workers to remain missional in an evolving workplace context.

We are looking for a mature Christian with a heart for discipleship (in “everyday faith”) and mission (in local Australian contexts). A distinctive feature of work with City Bible Forum is the opportunity to creatively, practically and pastorally adapt local missions for a post-church society. The heart of the role lies in gathering and mobilising people—across an organic network of volunteers—for this cross-cultural mission in modern Australia.
