Lead Pastor – Summerleas Christian Church

Posted: 10/03/21

Summerleas Christian Church is an evangelical church in Kingston, Tasmania (ten minutes south of Hobart city centre). We have over 170 members and a ministry team of two paid teaching elders (including this role), four volunteer elders and additional lay leaders in the areas of Purpose Teams, Gospel Communities and youth and women’s ministries. We are part of a network of five other churches, all of whom have been planted from the Christian Reformed Church of Kingston over the last twenty years. As such, the pastors of our church are part of a broad and supportive pastoral network.

This role is that of the key pastor/leader at Summerleas Christian Church. It involves: spearheading the vision and mission of Summerleas, in partnership with the broader staff team and lay leadership; leading a ministry team of staff and volunteers; taking the lead in preaching on Sundays; and maintaining a keen evangelistic edge in all that Summerleas does. Critical to this role is a demonstrated commitment to making and growing disciples of Jesus. Our current Lead Pastor is stepping down from his position in December 2022, and we are looking for a replacement to begin in January 2022 (though the start date is flexible). For further information regarding our mission, vision, values and community, please visit our website at summerleaschurch.org. To obtain a detailed job description, please contact Sarah Wierenga at office@summerleaschurch.org. Applications for this position close on Friday 16 April 2021.
