Korean Lay Worker – St Bart’s Toowoomba

Posted: 20/04/22

In line with St Bart’s VISION 2025 to expand our mission to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for God’s glory, one of our key mission goals is to extend reach, particularly with regard to ethnic diversity. In God’s kindness in recent years, St Bart’s has become increasingly ethnically diverse with a growing cohort of individuals and families with a Korean background. To date, there has been some exciting initiatives in considering how to nurture our ethnic diversity together whilst also providing specific opportunities for people of particular cultural or linguistic background to gather together.

The purpose of this role is to (a) help shape our approach to extending ethnic reach, including the possibility of specific cultural gatherings; (b) assist in translation; (c) shape opportunities for our gatherings to include elements of the services in Korean; and (d) nurture and pastorally care for members of our congregations with a Korean background.
