Assistant Minister or Children’s & Youth Minister
Full-time
We are seeking either an Assistant Minister with a focus on youth and young adults or a Children’s & Youth Minister. The position will be shaped in conversation with the successful applicant, according to their gifts and passions. Men and women are encouraged to apply.
South Wagga Anglican has recently re-potted and planted new congregations, and there is scope for the right candidate to explore pioneering ministry initiatives as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary pastor of our Evening Church congregation.
- Serve as part of the preaching team.
- Lead our youth and young adult teams and ministries.
- Oversee our children’s and family ministry teams and programs (including SRE).
- Train, develop, and mentor current and future ministry leaders.
- Work across the whole parish as part of a collaborative team.
- Coordinate a key portfolio such as small groups, men’s, or women’s ministry.
Qualifications:
- A personal and growing faith in Jesus Christ, shaped by evangelical convictions.
- Theologically trained (BTh or equivalent) with a commitment to life-long learning and reflective ministry practice.
- Demonstrated experience in initiating ministry and leading teams of volunteers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and with a collaborative approach to team
- ministry.
- Ordained Anglican clergy preferred, or openness to exploring ordination.
- Must hold, or be eligible for, a Working with Children Check and Diocesan Safe Ministry
- Clearance.
Additional Information:
Start Date: Early 2026 (negotiable).
Remuneration: In accordance with the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn Administrative Circular, including MEA/salary sacrifice arrangements, housing and vehicle provision.
About South Wagga Anglican Church
South Wagga Anglican Church is a growing church in the largest inland city in New South Wales. We have a variety of church service styles and hold thoughtful evangelical convictions. Over 200 people (including 40 children and youth) attend our services each week, and approximately 100 children and their families engage with our mid-week ministries.
We are active in citywide evangelism, committed to training and theological formation, and value every-member ministry and meaningful outreach. Above all, we seek to be a church shaped and motivated by the grace of God in Jesus Christ.
