Annual Preachers’ Conference 2024

We invite you to attend the next Ridley Preachers’ Conference to be held 23 – 24 April 2024!

We are delighted to have Dr Rory Shiner (Providence Church, Perth) preach for us three sermons from Leviticus, and Dr Katy Smith (SMBC) speak to us on theological themes from the book. There will also be a range of seminars to choose from, encouraging us in our preaching more generally, and preaching from the Old Testament in particular. Mike Raiter from the Centre for Biblical Preaching will be interviewing Dr Lindsay Wilson on the life of the preacher, as well as calling on us to pursue holiness of life. There will be a livestream option as well.

Women’s Writing Retreat 2024

The Ridley Women’s Writing Network invites you to the Women’s Writing Retreat, 2-3 August 2024.

This two-day event at Ridley College is for women interested in developing writing skills and publishing their writing. As well as dedicated individual and communal writing times there will be writing workshops to sharpen participants’ writing skills.

You are most welcome to join us for both days or just one.

The Peter Corney Lecture 2024

With the youth of today being immersed in meme culture, the debate concerning the place of irony and humour within religious life needs to be revisited. Is there such a place? Are Christian youth able to remain faithful to Christ while participating in meme culture (a culture which, broadly speaking, rejects the category of the sacred)? This lecture answers such questions affirmatively, proposing a discipleship strategy for Christian youth ministry based on Søren Kierkegaard’s theological dialectic of jest and earnestness.

The Anglican Institute Lecture 2024

Deep Things We Share: Discipleship and the Lord’s Supper

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper as Jesus instructed, but for many its role in daily discipleship has been neglected. Come along to this lecture to learn again how the discipleship agenda for your church – whatever it is – might be strengthened by sharing in the deep things of the Lord during the Communion service.
