The Marketplace Institute is a bold approach to bridge the divide between the Christian faith and the marketplace. To close the gap between church and work, between the sacred and the secular, between Sunday and Monday.
The Marketplace Institute exists to engage Ridley students, church leaders, academics and those in the marketplace. Through teaching, conversation, events and research it aims to raise awareness and bring understanding to the difference that the Christian faith makes to our life and witness in the workplace. It seeks to inspire a new generation of church leaders in how they might empower and support workers in their vocations.
Andrew Laird is Dean of the Marketplace Institute. He has a background in journalism, having worked in regional New South Wales and Sydney as a radio newsreader and reporter. He also directs Life@Work, an initiative of City Bible Forum Melbourne which aims to help connect Christian faith and work. For more information contact Andrew (a.laird[at]ridley.edu.au).
