Posted: 15/05/17

Ridley College has appointed two new adjunct lecturers to teach chaplaincy subjects in 2017 and beyond.

Dr Ted Endacott will teach Chaplaincy in Educational Settings. Ted has been actively involved in Christian ministry for over four decades, including as the Senior Chaplain at Hillcrest Christian College, as an educational consultant for the Victorian Council of Christian Education, and as a staff worker for Scripture Union. Ted has previously lectured in youth ministry and Christian education at Ridley and has a PhD in educational theory. His book Learning on the Run is a how-to book advocating the praxis style of teaching for Christian educators.

Stuart AdamsonThe Reverend Stuart Adamson has been appointed to teach Chaplaincy Skills. Stuart is a Pastoral Supervisor and Senior Chaplaincy Trainer with Anglicare in Sydney. He has been involved in chaplaincy training in a variety of ministry settings, and he currently teaches pastoral supervision at St Mark’s National Theological Centre, Canberra.

Ridley College has made these appointments to establish the College as a leading centre for chaplaincy training for educational, hospital, prison and work situations. ‘We are thrilled that Ted and Stuart will join Ridley to spearhead this development,’ says Richard Trist, Dean of the Anglican Institute at Ridley. ‘Chaplaincy is a significant interface of the church with the world, and there is a growing demand for quality training for this particular ministry’.

Ridley is committed to supporting chaplaincy and youth ministry and subjects can be credited towards ACT degrees. Chaplaincy in Educational Settings will be available as a week-long intensive 3-7 July 2017. Chaplaincy Skills will be offered in 2018. Additionally, Foundations of Youth Ministry will be taught by faculty member The Reverend Graham Stanton in Friday intensive classes from July to September 2017.
