Jill Firth appointed to Ridley Faculty

Posted: 19/10/15

Ridley is pleased to announce the appointment of Jill Firth to the Ridley faculty. Jill will continue in her role as a sessional lecturer, but this appointment recognises her enormous contribution to the life of the college. Jill’s great passion is Hebrew, and her enthusiasm is catching with large classes of students being engaged by her creative and inductive approach to the language. Jill is completing a PhD on Book V of the Psalms, and is also associate Minister in the 9am congregation at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Jill is looking forward to having an expanded role, having more time with students and further opportunities to contribute to campus life. As well as Hebrew she will co-teach first year Old Testament.

Acting Principal, Dr Tim Foster says “Jill is a great enthusiast who is a real gift to our students. She is able to engage and motivate students and get them learning in new ways. Her experiences as a missionary, mother and minister all help to ground her teaching in the realities of life.”

Jill’s appointment will commence in the new year.
