Andrew Laird joined the Ridley faculty in 2016 part-time as Dean of the Ridley Marketplace Institute. Andrew has a background in journalism, having worked in regional New South Wales and Sydney as a radio newsreader and reporter. He studied at Sydney Missionary and Bible College where he completed an M Div and is currently undertaking research for an MTh in the area of missional ethics.
Andrew spends most of his week working with the Melbourne City Bible Forum directing a program called Life@Work. He is passionate about seeing Christians connect their faith with all aspects of their daily labour.
Andrew lives in Melbourne’s inner south-east and is married to Carly. They have three young children.
Andrew lectures in subjects related to faith and work.
Missional ethics (the connection between “right living” and Christian witness) and its application to various areas, in particular workplace and marriage ethics.
Hobbies & Interests
With three young children Andrew’s hobbies and interests revolve mostly around building Duplo & Lego. However he loves road cycling (both participating and watching). You’ll find him drinking more coffee than usual in the months of May, July and September in order to stay up late watching major cycling tours.
