2022 Annual Dinner

We would love you to join us at Green Acres Golf Club in Kew for a night of good fun, food and fellowship on Friday 11 November 2022.

This year, given the many challenges we have all been facing over recent years, our theme for the night will be ‘Navigating Turbulent Times’. Bishop Steve Maina from the Nelson Diocese (in New Zealand) will be our keynote speaker and will share some of his experiences as a leader staying faithful and guiding others through difficult times.

Guest Speaker

Bishop Steve Maina

Steve has served within the Church all his life and was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church in Kenya in 2004. He was appointed head of the New Zealand Church Missionary Society in 2009, prompting the move to New Zealand with his wife and two daughters. He became Bishop of the Nelson Diocese in 2019. Steve is a passionate follower of Jesus, holds to the Authority of Scripture and the power of the Gospel to transform lives. He likes to think outside the square has a ‘can do’ attitude and enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds. His key skills include vision casting, strategic planning, preaching, cross-cultural awareness, mission mobilisation and governance. He desires to see churches thriving and growing as the Gospel is shared and disciples raised to be intentional faith-filled people. Steve is involved in several governance roles, including chair of Bishopdale Theological College in Nelson.
His other interests include running, coffee (he grew up on a Kenyan coffee farm) and connecting with people.
