Overview
Continue to develop your Hebrew language skills through interactive lectures, textbook study, and collaborative reading of the Book of Jonah. This subject complements traditional grammar study with a communicative approach to language learning, which immerses you in biblical Hebrew language through reading, writing, listening and speaking. It will equip you to use Hebrew in preparation for preaching or Bible teaching. You will also be able to read for your own benefit and undertake further Hebrew exegesis units. Look forward to doing a detailed study in Genesis or Psalms, Job or Jeremiah. Imagine yourself reading Isaiah in the original language.

- Study Allen P. Ross, Introducing Biblical Hebrew (Baker Academic, 2001) chapters 15–40.
- Gain basic skills in translation and exegesis through the collaborative reading of some Psalms and Jonah.
- Continue to use Living Biblical Hebrew Part One aural resources and interactive learning style.
- Optional additional Hebrew reading practice.
- Assessment through weekly quizzes, three tests, and a final project on Jonah 4.
Study Expectations
Allow at least three hours per week for homework exercises, listening, reading, and memorisation.
