Melbourne born, Kate spent a decade as a CMS Missionary, walking alongside Aboriginal ministers and church leaders in the Diocese of the Northern Territory, providing training and support, and assisting local leaders in the development of culturally appropriate ministry resources in local languages. It was during this time that she was ordained in the Anglican church, and served in various roles, including as the Ministry Development officer of the Diocese.

Teaching Areas

Since coming to Ridley, Kate facilitates learning in practical theology units, particularly Pastoral Supervision and the formation of Anglican ministers through her role as the Associate Dean of the Anglican Institute. She enjoys walking alongside those discerning and following God’s call to serve in lifelong ministry and counts it as a privilege.

Research Interests

Kate completed an MA in 2019 exploring the development of culturally and linguistically appropriate models of providing pastoral supervision in intercultural contexts. She is interested in furthering her research on embodied learning modalities and the contextualisation of pedagogies for ministry formation across cultures.

Kate is married to Tavis and they have two adult children. In her time off Kate likes watching movies with her family, e-biking through the bush and glamping in good company.
