Please note that Ridley transitioned to a new resourcing strategy at the end of semester two 2022 which continues to see further expansion of the Ridley College Library’s digital collections, rather than providing Logos to our students.

What is Logos Bible Software?
Logos is a leading Bible software and digital library. It offers powerful original language tools, several English versions and thousands of scholarly books, commentaries and dictionaries.
Apart from the sheer volume of works available, Logos allows you to read and annotate these works, follow links between various works, and have a number of these resources open at the same time.
What is the Ridley Logos Library?
Logos does sell pre-built libraries (eg Bronze, Silver, Gold), but Ridley has negotiated a customised library that includes many Bibles and required textbooks and reference works. This is the Ridley Logos Custom Collection.
What’s in the Ridley Logos Library?
The Ridley Logos Library is based on the Biblical Languages pack (which alone retails around A$1,000), so it makes a great foundation for your collection. This foundation provides original-language study resources with a smart library of ancient texts, lexicons and grammars, plus tools to dig into Greek and Hebrew (and even Aramaic and Latin). To this we have added almost all the first-year and a number of the more advanced textbooks. In addition there are two series of commentaries and nearly a dozen major Bible dictionaries. There are various additional multimedia resources that are a great tool for your studies and ministry.

What else is there to love about Logos?
Apart from the valuable set of resources included in our custom library, there are at least three further reasons you might consider a package like this one:
First, Logos offers incredible functionality. You can annotate electronic resources just as you can pencil comments in the margin of a book or run a highlighter through an important quote. You can hover over a reference and quickly read the text that is being cited. You can also search textbooks and original languages in detail. Accessing resources is fast, and you can have multiple texts open at once.
Second, Logos provides great portability. Your library can sit on your desktop computer (both Windows and Macintosh) as well as being available on your tablet or smartphone (both iOS and Android). You can now also read your resources from any web browser. You can sync your libraries and annotations across devices and platforms. Wherever you are, your library comes with you!
Third, Logos can be readily expanded. Our package does not include the set textbooks for every advanced elective, but you can purchase additional resources and integrate them directly into your Logos library.
Are there any technical requirements?
Major work and complicated searching is best done on your computer. Tablets and phones are great for reading, but they offer only limited analysis and searching.
Apps for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire are free and are regularly updated. You can find them, along with any system requirements, in the appropriate online store.
Logos advertises certain system requirements (scroll to end) but the program has been known to run on older machines.
Costs & Operation
Which version will I get when I buy out my licence?
All licences will be upgraded to the latest engine while students study with us, but will not be upgraded further when you buy out. The engine does not include new datasets.
What if I already use Logos?.
Your licence can be connected to your existing account, integrating Ridley’s package with your existing resources. Students who already have Logos should contact us at registrar@ridley.edu.au, informing us of your current Logos ID/email.
Can I upgrade my Ridley Logos Library to a higher level like Gold?
Yes. You just need to log in to Logos and you will be given special discounted pricing that takes into account the value of the resources you already own in the Ridley Logos Library.
Apart from considering another Logos package, we would strongly recommend that you consider buying particular individual resources. Specific commentaries and textbooks may be recommended in college electives. Logos (and its partner brands) may also be offering other books that you want to add individually to your library.
How much is the package worth?
Depending on which resources you would buy and use otherwise, there is a minimum of $3,800 value in the package. For many students there is far more.
