Adult Christian Education

Ridley has an important place in helping churches train lay people to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their faith.

We are currently redeveloping the Ridley Certificate to assist churches equip people for ministry and build their knowledge of the bible and Christian theology. This will be taught in churches around Melbourne and delivered online through eRidley. Subjects will include biblical studies, church history and doctrine, as well as ministry areas such as small group leadership, pastoral care and children's ministry. The cerfificate is under development, being piloted in 2012 and released in 2103.

In a major new development Ridley is developing a Marketplace Institute with a vision to bridge the gap between Sunday and Monday. In particular, we want people to see how their everyday lives are not a distraction from ministry, but the very context in which they can be a transforming presence.

To commence this Ridley will employ a leading mentor, scholar and educator with the capacity to influence, transform and inspire Christians to integrate faith and work. They will provide biblical frameworks, theological reflection and practical resources that help bring faith and work together. Ridley will work with like-minded organisations, providing much needed theological resources to address these questions.

This is an exciting and ambitious vision that will have a significant impact on our churches and the everyday lives of Christians.
