Graduate Diploma
The Graduate Diploma of Divinity is a one-year course (if taken full-time) that provides you with an excellent foundation in theology and Christian ministry. It will equip you to serve in your church and community with a more informed attitude to ministry. However, it is not intended to provide sufficient training for people preparing for full-time ministry. The hardest thing about the Graduate Diploma is choosing just three electives. That's probably why many students who complete the diploma then move into the second year of the MDiv degree.

You can undertake this diploma within the context of a learning community.
The Graduate Diploma is an award of the Australian College of Theology, and qualified students are eligible to apply for Centrelink allowances (Austudy, Abstudy and Youth Allowance) and FEE-Help.
Studying for a Graduate Diploma of Divinity
The Graduate Diploma requires
- The completion of 32 credit points (8 subjects) which is equivalent to one year full-time study;
- Twenty credit points (5 subjects) in bible and theology;
- A further 12 credit points (3 subjects) in your area of interest.
Entry Requirements
The Graduate Diploma provides a one-year program of study for graduates with no formal qualifications in theology. It can also form the first year of the Master of Divinity (MDiv). Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an Australian university or an equivalent qualification.

Study Options
There is no mature age entry provision as applicants are already graduates. This course can also be taken on a part-time basis. A maximum of four years is allowed for the completion of this award.
While it is expected that most students will exit with the Graduate Diploma, the award would need to be surrendered if the student were to proceed to graduate with the Master of Divinity, and the rules for progression and choice of units would need to be fulfilled.
