Wisdom
OT424/OT624 (English) OT434/OT634 (Hebrew) Wisdom Literature
This covers the wisdom books of Proverbs, Job and Ecclesiastes, aiming to discover how to understand these 3 neglected books in a way that will be useful for ministry. These books have valuable resources for everyday living (esp. Proverbs) and asking hard questions about the way life is (esp. Job & Ecclesiastes). Exploring the distinctive features of wisdom writing will help us to see how wisdom makes a significant contribution to the OT as a whole, and therefore to biblical theology.
