In Rural Ministry: The Shape of the Renewal to Come a group of nine authors led by
Shannon Jung have written an introductory text for clergy and lay people on mobilizing
rural churches for ministry and witness. Each of the authors is associated with the Center
for Theology and Land at the Rural Ministry Program at Wartburg Theological Seminary
in Dubuque, Iowa, in the United States. The authors represent a wide range of Christian
traditions, both Protestant and Roman Catholic. Their work is the result of a four-year
project and is an up-to-date distillation of published and unpublished resources in the
rural ministry field. As such it provides an excellent foundation for more specialized
work in the future.
