Anthea McCall

Anthea has served part-time on faculty at Ridley since 2006. Anthea grew up in country NSW. and the city of Sydney. In her early 20s she came to know God's saving love through connecting to a local church. After teaching languages in two Sydney high schools, she undertook studies at Moore Theological College.

She has wide experience in ministry, having spent 5 years in Canberra in university ministry with AFES. Anthea was ordained and joined the staff of a large Anglican Church in Melbourne where she serves as Senior Associate Minister.

Teaching Areas

New Testament, Anglican Institute, and mentoring women.

Research Interests

Anthea is currently pursuing a MA(Theology).
She is interested in applying theology to pastoral ministry, training Christians for ministry, and cross-cultural mission. She is also interested in adult education, and enjoys seeing people learn.

Hobbies & Interests

Keeping up her other languages by travel, films, and ‘Inspector Rex’; the great outdoors, escapes to the beach or the mountains, eating and drinking, and hot weather. Anthea likes surprising herself and others (no boasting permitted) with her general knowledge by doing the Age General Knowledge quiz. She also enjoys being silly at College Reviews and building, fixing, pruning, planting things around the house.

In addition to Ridley and church work, she is the chair of the Swinburne University Christian Union Action Group, and serves on the EFAC Womens’ Network Committee
